Circolo Scacchistico Cavalli&Segugi A.S.D. is an Italian chess club based in Robecchetto con Induno, within the Metropolitan City of Milan. Founded on November 25, 2001, the club is affiliated with the Federazione Scacchistica Italiana and promotes chess across the Castanese area and neighboring communities in western Lombardy.

The club welcomes junior players, adults, beginners, experienced competitors, and visitors interested in over-the-board chess. Its regular activities take place at Palazzo Fagnani Arese, the municipal building in the center of Robecchetto con Induno. Members meet for free play, training, internal competitions, rated tournaments, and preparation for team events.

Cavalli&Segugi maintains an extensive chess program throughout the year. The organization combines weekly club activity with events held in Robecchetto con Induno, Turbigo, Cuggiono, Vanzaghello, Castano Primo, and other nearby municipalities. Therefore, its work reaches a broader regional chess community rather than remaining limited to one playing venue.

🎓 Chess Training and Club Activities

The club provides chess courses and educational activities for players who want to learn or improve. Its program includes introductory instruction, structured lessons, practical exercises, game analysis, and opportunities to play against opponents of different strengths.

Junior development also forms an important part of the club’s work. Cavalli&Segugi organizes activities and competitions designed for children and teenagers, including events within the Puledri&Cuccioli youth program. These tournaments give young players practical experience in a friendly but organized competitive environment.

Adult members can take part in standard, rapid, and blitz chess. The social calendar includes open tournaments, team competitions, themed cups, evening events, and informal playing sessions. Moreover, the club publishes tournament information, results, ratings, archived games, and its Agenda Scacchi newsletter through its official website.

🏆 Tournaments and Competitive Chess

Tournament organization is one of the club’s principal strengths. Cavalli&Segugi runs a large annual program that includes FIDE-rated tournaments, local open competitions, youth events, team matches, and shorter rapid and blitz formats.

Its most established event is the Festival “Comune di Robecchetto con Induno,” whose history began in 1988 and continued with its 38th edition in 2026. The club also organizes the Open Primavera, the Open Estate, the traditional Open Semilampo, and numerous seasonal competitions. In addition, it regularly hosts groups of the Italian Team Chess Championship.

Cavalli&Segugi fields several teams in the Campionato Italiano a Squadre. Its members compete at different national and regional levels, allowing both established players and developing club members to gain team experience.

The 7° Open Estate 2026 takes place in Turbigo with the support of the local municipality. The competition features two FIDE-rated standard sections and continues the club’s commitment to providing accessible weekend tournaments for different rating levels.
