♟️ About CASTLEMASTERS CHESS INDIA Pvt. Ltd.

CASTLEMASTERS CHESS INDIA Pvt. Ltd. is a chess tournament organizer based in the Gurugram, Haryana chess community. The organization operates publicly under the CastleMasters name and has developed a tournament program ranging from junior rapid competitions to a major FIDE-rated international open. Its events bring together players from Gurugram, Delhi NCR, Haryana and other parts of India. Hariom Solanki is the principal public organizer associated with CastleMasters and serves as Tournament Director for its major FIDE-rated competition. The broader organizing team for the 2026 international event also includes Rahul Gupta, Rahul Malhotra and Ravikant Singh. In addition, CastleMasters works with qualified arbiters and registration officials when staging larger competitions. The organization cooperates with established chess authorities and educational venues. Its first international FIDE-rated event is held under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation, Haryana Chess Association, and District Chess Association Gurgaon. This structure allows CastleMasters to combine local tournament activity with formally registered national and international rating events.

🏆 Tournaments & Chess Activities

CastleMasters has built its public tournament activity around rapid chess. In June 2026, CastleMasters Chess Club Gurgaon organized separate Under-9, Under-13 and Under-17 Rapid Chess Tournaments at Vega School in Gurugram. These competitions gave young players dedicated age-group fields rather than placing every participant into one open section. The June events also demonstrated a structured tournament approach. Each age category had its own Chess-Results listing, while the published program offered a combined prize fund of ₹45,000. Qualified arbiters and technical officials supported the competitions, and Rahul Malhotra served as the published general contact for participants. The organization then expanded significantly with the 1st CastleMasters International Open Rapid FIDE Rated Chess Tournament 2026. The tournament takes place on November 21–22, 2026, at Satya School in Sector 49, Gurugram. It is a nine-round Swiss competition with a time control of 25 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move and carries FIDE Event ID 492568. The international open offers a substantial ₹700,000 prize fund. Its award structure includes 30 main prizes as well as separate rating categories, women’s prizes, veterans’ awards, Haryana-player prizes, disability prizes, and junior age-group awards. The competition is open to rated and unrated Indian players as well as international players holding a valid FIDE ID.

🌱 Junior Chess & Development

Junior chess forms a visible part of CastleMasters’ tournament program. The organization’s earlier Gurugram events were divided into Under-9, Under-13 and Under-17 groups, giving young players age-appropriate competition and a clear progression through different junior categories. The larger CastleMasters International Open also maintains a strong junior component despite using one overall playing field. Separate prizes are offered in the U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15 categories. As a result, younger players can compete against the full tournament field while still pursuing age-specific awards. CastleMasters also works with schools as tournament venues and partners. Vega School hosted the June 2026 junior events, while Satya School serves as the venue partner for the November FIDE-rated tournament. The international event additionally awards trophies to the leading schools, reinforcing the connection between school chess and open competitive play. This approach provides junior players with more than one level of competition. Younger participants can begin with age-group rapid tournaments and then move into larger open events that use FIDE rules, rated pairings and experienced arbiters. Therefore, CastleMasters’ current tournament structure combines junior development with broader competitive opportunities.

📚 Development of the CastleMasters Tournament Program

The public tournament record shows a clear expansion of CastleMasters activity during 2026. The organization first appeared through dedicated junior rapid tournaments in Gurugram and then progressed to a two-day FIDE-rated international event with a significantly larger field and prize fund. That development also brought a larger organizational structure. For the CastleMasters International Open, Hariom Solanki serves as Tournament Director, IA Atul Mishra as Chief Arbiter, and additional officials handle registration and technical queries. The tournament is registered through the relevant Indian chess authorities and uses Swiss-Manager for pairings. The 2026 international tournament represents an important step in the organization’s growth. By combining open participation, FIDE rating, numerous prize categories and cooperation with national, state and district chess bodies, CastleMasters is moving from local age-group tournaments toward larger recurring chess events in Gurugram.
