The 2026 competition is a five-round FIDE-rated classical Open with a time control of 60 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move. The compact weekend format is designed for both local players and visitors who want serious rated chess without committing to a longer festival. The tournament also remembers Laura Novellini, whose name has become associated with this annual Torri d’Acaja event.

Torri d’Acaja also participates in the Campionato Italiano a Squadre, Italy’s national club team championship.
