A.S.D. Scuola di Scacchi Torre&Cavallo is a chess club, training organization, and tournament organizer based in Sarezzo, in the Province of Brescia, Lombardy, Italy. The association has promoted chess throughout the Brescia area since 2007 and was founded with the involvement of International Master Roberto Messa. Chess education has always been central to the organization. Torre&Cavallo runs courses for children and adults and works beyond the traditional club environment in schools, libraries, community centers, oratories, and other institutions. Its long-running Scacchi a Scuola project has introduced chess into schools across numerous municipalities in the Province of Brescia since 2010. 🎓 Chess Education and Community Activity

The Scacchi a Scuola project is one of Torre&Cavallo’s defining activities. Launched in 2010, it brings chess instruction into primary and secondary schools throughout the Brescia area. Tournament organization is a major part of Torre&Cavallo’s current program. In May 2026, Torre&Cavallo co-organized the Torneo Internazionale di Scacchi 2026 in Castelcovati. The six-round FIDE-rated event featured three rating sections and a substantial prize fund. 🌊 Festival Internazionale di Toscolano Maderno

One of Torre&Cavallo’s principal recurring tournaments is the Festival Internazionale di Scacchi di Toscolano Maderno on Lake Garda. The 7th edition takes place from August 28–30, 2026 at Senior Club Bar al Centro in Toscolano Maderno. The festival consists of two FIDE-rated classical sections, with six rounds played at 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move. 🌍 International Tournament in Pavia

Torre&Cavallo is also involved in an expanding tournament project in Pavia. The 2nd Torneo Internazionale di Scacchi a Pavia is scheduled for November 7–8, 2026 at the historic Castello Visconteo. The event includes three separate international chess tournaments and offers a combined €6,000 prize fund. This project illustrates the association’s development beyond its traditional Brescia base and its growing involvement in larger chess events elsewhere in Lombardy.

Aristide Zorzi is the current President and principal contact of A.S.D. Scuola di Scacchi Torre&Cavallo.
