Cincinnati Scholastic Chess (CSC) is a chess tournament organizer based in the greater Cincinnati area of Ohio, United States. It was founded in 2007 to promote scholastic chess for students in grades K–12. Today, CSC is also active in open competition for players of all ages.
CSC runs a steady calendar of over-the-board events, including the annual Cincinnati Open. In addition, it operates the CSC Series with recurring scholastic tournaments across the school year. Moreover, its events are designed around clear sections, published rules, and consistent tournament operations.
Furthermore, CSC focuses on building long-term chess participation through youth-friendly formats and accessible entry paths. As a result, families and improving players can find regular competitive opportunities. At the same time, experienced competitors can pursue stronger prize events through the Cincinnati Open.
