SSV Zuffenhausen e.V. is the largest sports club in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, offering a wide range of athletic and recreational activities. Formed in 2009 through the merger of three local clubs—Naturheilverein Zuffenhausen (NHV), Sportgemeinschaft Zuffenhausen (SG), and Turn- und Sportverein Zuffenhausen (TSV)—and expanded in 2013 with the inclusion of FV Zuffenhausen, the club now boasts over 3,500 members across 13 departments. These departments include football, handball, karate, cycling, swimming, chess, and more.

The chess department of SSV Zuffenhausen is actively involved in promoting the game at both amateur and competitive levels. The club regularly organizes tournaments and training sessions, fostering a vibrant chess community in the region. Notably, SSV Zuffenhausen co-organizes the annual Internationale Stuttgarter Stadtmeisterschaft, attracting players from various regions.
