The Club d’Échecs du Bassin Annemassien (CABE), established in 2005 and revitalized by a dynamic team since 2016, stands as a prominent chess institution in the Haute-Savoie region of France. With a mission to promote chess both as a competitive sport and an educational tool, CABE has cultivated a vibrant community of over 300 members, ranging from young beginners to seasoned players.

CABE is deeply committed to integrating chess into the local community. The club conducts weekly sessions in 23 schools across the Annemasse area, introducing students to the strategic and cognitive benefits of the game. During school holidays, CABE organizes chess camps and workshops, providing continuous learning opportunities for youth. Beyond education, the club actively participates in social integration initiatives, collaborating with local associations and municipalities to make chess accessible to all.

🏆 Competitive Engagement

On the competitive front, CABE fields teams in various national leagues, including Nationale 2 for both general and youth categories. The club also hosts significant tournaments such as the Open Maurice-David and the Festival International d’Échecs de La Plagne, attracting players from across the region and beyond. ​

📍 Facilities and Training

CABE operates from two primary locations: the main club at 6 Rue du Sentier in Annemasse and an additional venue at 8 Rue du Jura in Ambilly. These facilities are equipped to accommodate players of all levels, offering over 20 training sessions per week led by a team of 10 dedicated coaches and instructors. The club’s inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of age or skill level, finds a welcoming environment to learn and compete. ​
