♟️ Vlaamse Schaakfederatie (VSF)

The Vlaamse Schaakfederatie (VSF), or Flemish Chess Federation, is the official governing body for chess in the Flemish-speaking region of Belgium. Established to promote and develop the game of chess, VSF operates under the larger umbrella of the Royal Belgian Chess Federation (KBSB/FRBE), representing Flanders in national and international chess affairs.

🏆 Mission and Activities

VSF’s primary mission is to support chess clubs, organize regional competitions, and foster chess education and talent development throughout Flanders. The federation regularly coordinates:

• The Open VSF-Kampioenschap, one of Flanders' most competitive open tournaments
• Youth and school chess programs
• Training seminars for players, coaches, and arbiters
• FIDE-rated tournaments and league events
