⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

Every round uses 12 minutes plus a 3-second increment from move one. The tournament uses the full Swiss system, and PAPI 3.3.8 assists the pairing process.

The tournament consists of one open rapid section. It is open to players properly affiliated with the French Chess Federation or another FIDE member federation.

FIDE requires each participant in a FIDE-rated event to have a FIDE ID. Foreign players without one should arrange it through their home federation before the event.

  • Analysis games and casual blitz are not permitted inside the tournament room.
  • Players may not discuss a game in progress with anyone.
  • A phone or other electronic communication device may be stored only when completely switched off inside a player’s bag.
  • A player may not carry a bag containing such a device during the game without arbiter permission.
  • A proven electronic-device violation can result in loss of the game and a win for the opponent.
  • The arbiter may conduct a private inspection under the FIDE rules, with an inspector of the same sex as the player.
  • Tournament disputes are decided by the arbiter. Players retain the right to use the published appeals procedure of the Hauts-de-France chess league.
