🌍 Veszprémi Nyár International Chess Tournament

The club’s principal annual event is the Veszprémi Nyár FIDE-Rated International Chess Tournament. The competition has become a long-running part of the Hungarian summer chess calendar and reached its 30th edition in 2026.

The tournament is dedicated to the memory of Kohlrusz Zoltán (1981–2004). It brings players to Veszprém for a compact multi-day program of classical chess. The competition uses a Swiss system and counts for FIDE standard rating.

The XXX. Veszprémi Nyár takes place from August 6 to 9, 2026, at the Városi Művelődési Központ in the Agóra Veszprém complex. It features seven rounds, cash prizes, and additional awards for women, seniors, juniors, and players within specified rating categories.

Ezüst Huszár Sakkegyesület manages the tournament organization, while experienced arbiters oversee the competition. The club also assists visiting players with practical information about accommodation and local services when requested.
