Poti Chess Club “Nana” is a municipal chess organization based in Poti, Georgia. The club develops chess among children and adults through structured coaching, regular practice, competitive events, and participation in national and international tournaments. It works with the Poti municipal administration, Georgian Chess Federation, coaches, arbiters, schools, sports institutions, and international chess organizations. Moreover, the club helps promising young players progress from introductory training to Georgian championships and major international competitions. International Organizer and International Arbiter Dato Kodua leads the organization and serves as its principal tournament director and contact person.

Poti Chess Club “Nana” is best known for organizing the annual Poti International Chess Festival – Nana Aleksandria Cup. The festival honors Georgian chess legend Nana Aleksandria, who was born in Poti and twice challenged for the Women’s World Championship. The event attracts titled players, club competitors, juniors, coaches, and families from Georgia and other countries. Its program includes several FIDE-rated classical sections, age-group tournaments, open and junior blitz events, Chess960 competitions, and a family team tournament. The club manages registrations, participant communication, tournament schedules, playing equipment, prize administration, accommodation information, technical operations, and cooperation with the arbitral team. It organizes the festival together with the Georgian Chess Federation and the local administration of Poti. Through this flagship event and its year-round programs, the club connects grassroots development with international competition while promoting Poti as a recognized chess destination.
