♟️ About the China Student Sports Federation

The China Student Sports Federation, commonly abbreviated as CSSF, is China’s national governing organization for student sport. Founded in 1975, it coordinates organized competition involving schools, colleges, and universities across China. The federation provides a national structure for student championships, team selection, educational sport initiatives, and international representation. It also works with educational authorities, universities, sports associations, local governments, and event committees. CSSF has represented China within the International University Sports Federation since 1977 and acts as the country’s recognized national university sports federation within the FISU system.

🏆 National and International Student Sport

CSSF organizes and supports nationwide student competitions across numerous sports. Its responsibilities include promoting participation, coordinating national championships, developing competition standards, and helping Chinese student-athletes enter international university events. The federation also works with host cities and educational institutions when China stages FISU competitions. In this capacity, CSSF connects the international requirements established by FISU with China’s domestic university sports system. It supports delegation administration, national coordination, institutional communication, and the development of competitive opportunities for students. Therefore, CSSF plays both a sporting and educational role within China’s broader student-development framework.

🌍 Role in the 2026 Mind Sports Championship

CSSF is an official co-host of the 2026 FISU World University Championship Mind Sports together with the People’s Government of Liaocheng. It provides the national university-sport authority required for a FISU World University Championship hosted in China. Meanwhile, the Liaocheng Organizing Committee handles local event delivery. CSSF’s role connects FISU, Chinese educational and sporting structures, participating national university sports federations, and the local host committee. The championship includes separate men’s and women’s chess competitions, a mixed-team classification, blitz chess, and bridge. Through this event, CSSF supports international university competition while promoting mind sports among students and educational institutions in China.
