♟️ About the Organizer

Academia de Ajedrez JobChess is a chess academy based in La Cisterna, Santiago, Chile. It provides chess instruction, practical training, educational material, and tournament opportunities for players who want to improve their competitive skills.

Chilean FIDE Master Job Sepúlveda Herrera directs the academy. He has more than 30 years of experience in chess as a player, teacher, coach, author, and content creator.

Job reached a peak FIDE classical rating of 2354. His competitive background allows him to combine theoretical instruction with practical advice based on tournament experience.

The academy offers private and group lessons. Its work covers tactics, strategy, openings, endgames, calculation, game analysis, and preparation for competitive chess.

JobChess operates from its venue on Alejandro Vial in La Cisterna. The academy also publishes lessons and training material through social media, YouTube, Lichess, and specialist chess platforms.

🏆 Tournaments and Competitive Chess

Academia de Ajedrez JobChess organizes rapid tournaments for its students and invited players. These events allow participants to practice under formal tournament conditions and gain experience with Swiss-system pairings and chess clocks.

The academy launched its JobChess rapid tournament series in 2026. The first edition took place in April, followed by a second tournament in September.

The 2nd JobChess Academy Rapid Tournament 2026 takes place on September 27 at the academy’s La Cisterna venue. The competition consists of five Swiss-system rounds with a time control of 15 minutes plus two seconds per move.

The results count toward the Chilean national rapid rating. FM Job Sepúlveda serves as Tournament Director, while Rama Hari Palma Guitard serves as Chief Arbiter.

The event is primarily designed for academy players. However, the organizer may accept a limited number of external participants when places remain available. Interested players should therefore contact JobChess and obtain confirmation before attending.

The academy publishes tournament announcements, regulations, registration information, and participant updates through its social media channels. It also uses Chess-Results and the Chilean Chess Federation’s tournament system for official competition information.

📚 Chess Training and Educational Content

Chess education remains the academy’s main activity. JobChess works with beginners, improving club players, and experienced competitors who want structured individual guidance.

Lessons combine theoretical study with exercises, annotated games, practical positions, and analysis of the student’s own tournament games. Therefore, players can identify weaknesses and build a training plan suited to their current level.

Job Sepúlveda is also the author of the Muerte al Rey chess-book series. The books collect articles, exercises, tactical material, historical content, and instructional positions for amateur and intermediate players.

He has also produced instructional material on rook endings and pawn endings. Much of his digital content is available for study through the academy’s online channels.

The academy regularly publishes tactical exercises, opening studies, classic games, endgame material, and videos explaining important chess concepts. This online work allows students and followers to continue learning outside scheduled lessons.

Through personalized coaching, educational publications, online resources, and academy tournaments, JobChess supports chess development in Santiago. Beginners can build a sound foundation, while established players can prepare for stronger competitive events.
