Šachový klub Most z. s. is a registered chess club and tournament organizer based in Most, Czech Republic. The club supports chess education and competitive participation, with a particularly strong emphasis on children and junior players. Its members regularly participate in regional and national competitions, while its training activities help young players develop strategic thinking, planning, concentration, memory, and decision-making skills. The City of Most identifies the club as one of the country’s prominent organizers of youth chess events and lists ZŠ Václava Talicha in Most as one of its regular activity locations.
🏆 Tournaments and Chess Events
Šachový klub Most has extensive experience organizing national youth championships and accompanying open competitions. Its organizational record includes the Czech Under-8 Championship in 2008 and 2016, the Czech Youth Rapid Championship in 2017 and 2022, the Championship of Bohemia for the under-8 and under-10 categories from 2018 through 2025, and the Czech Youth Championship for age groups up to under 16 in 2023. The club has also submitted its official proposal to organize the 2026 Championship of Bohemia U10 and the open Championship of Bohemia U8 at Hotel Cascade in Most, together with the FIDE-rated Cascade Open and Rapid Cascade competitions.
The club also organizes the Mostecký šachový festival, which includes nationally and internationally rated rapid and blitz tournaments. The 2026 festival lists Šachový klub Most as the official organizer and Miroslav Körschner as tournament director. Through championship events, open tournaments, rapid and blitz competitions, and supporting activities for accompanying family members, the club provides opportunities for children, adult competitors, developing players, and experienced tournament participants.
🌱 Youth Chess Development
Youth chess is central to the club’s work. In November 2025, Šachový klub Most organized the Championship of Bohemia U10 and U8 in cooperation with Společně pro Blažim, bringing together young players from across the Czech Republic at Hotel Cascade. The U10 championship attracted more than 50 participants, while additional players joined the accompanying open and rapid competitions. The club also conducts recruitment activities for young beginners and provides regular training designed to introduce children to organized chess in a supportive environment.
