The competition is recognized by the Federación Galega de Xadrez and is valid for FIDE rating. The tournament is played over eight Swiss-system rounds with a classical time control of 60 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move. Play takes place in the Hotel CEMAR complex on the Ponteareas–Mondariz road. This setting provides a combination of tournament rooms and residential facilities within the same educational environment. Registration and tournament enquiries are handled directly through Manuel Enrique Outerelo Ucha, who serves as the principal Tournament Director and chess contact.
