About Royal Ghent Chess Club Ruy Lopez
The Royal Ghent Chess Circle Ruy Lopez (Koninklijke Gentse Schaakkring Ruy Lopez, KGSRL) is one of Belgium's largest and most prestigious chess clubs, boasting around 200 members. Established in Ghent, the club has a rich history of organizing significant chess events, including the annual Ghent Open International Chess Tournament. In the 2015/16 season, KGSRL clinched the Belgian Team Championship title in the Interclubs competition. The club's headquarters are conveniently located near the "Gent Gravensteen" tram station, approximately 350 meters from the venue.
