SC Groß-Zimmern 1921 e.V. is a historic chess club in Groß-Zimmern, Hesse. The club dates back to 1921 and gives local players a regular home for over-the-board chess. Its playing venue is Kulturzentrum Glöckelchen on Angelstraße 18, where juniors and adults meet every Friday.

The club runs separate Friday chess sessions for young players and adults. Youth training starts in the early evening, while adult play and training begin later the same night. Therefore, players can use the same club structure for casual games, tournament preparation, and regular chess improvement. The club also offers theme-based training evenings with lectures, group work, and practical study material.

Its first team competes in the Starkenburgliga, while other teams give more players the chance to play official league chess. In addition, the club takes part in cup and team formats within the Hessian and Starkenburg chess structure.

The club calendar includes monthly blitz tournaments, an internal long-time-control tournament, training evenings, and league rounds. Its blitz championship uses 5+0 games and runs as a regular club series. Meanwhile, the internal long-time-control event uses 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move across 12 rounds. The club also organizes the Zimmner Schachjubiläumsopen, a classical open tournament with seven Swiss-system rounds and a 90+30 time control.
