The event uses five Swiss-system rounds, Fischer short time control with 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move, DWZ rating, and a participant limit of 70 players. It also offers a confirmed prize fund of €1,000, with prizes for overall standings, youth players, older players, rating categories, and four-player teams. The tournament has become a regular highlight in the regional chess calendar.
