The 2026 edition is the VI Coppa Città di Oristano and takes place from September 11 to 13. It includes two rating-based sections, seven Swiss-system rounds, FIDE standard rating, and a 60 minutes plus 30 seconds time control. The club also organizes and supports other important Sardinian events, including regional championship activity and youth competitions. Earlier club activity includes international open tournaments in Oristano during the 1990s, which brought experienced players and titled competitors to the city. Therefore, Oristano Scacchi combines local club work with a serious tournament program. Its events give Sardinian players more opportunities to compete without leaving the island.
