A.S.D. Circolo Scacchistico Le Due Torri – Spilimbergo is an amateur chess association based in Spilimbergo, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. The association was founded on November 21, 2002. It is affiliated with the Italian Chess Federation and appears in the national register of amateur sports organizations.

The club promotes chess through lessons, courses, tournaments, and local community activities. Its official municipal profile highlights chess instruction for primary and secondary school pupils in Spilimbergo and the surrounding area. The club also organizes competitions and other chess events for the wider community.

A.S.D. Le Due Torri also takes part in organized team chess. Italian Chess Federation records list the club’s teams in the Campionato Italiano a Squadre. Andrea Bisaro serves as club president and legal representative, while Mattia Paveglio supports club and membership administration.

🏆 Chess Events and Activities

The club organizes the Spilimbergo International Chess Tournament, its main annual international event. The 24th edition takes place from August 8 to 15, 2026, at Centro Sportivo La Favorita in Spilimbergo. The festival includes a Master tournament and three additional sections: A, B, and C.

The Master tournament uses a 9-round Swiss-system format. The other three sections each feature seven rounds. All sections use a classical time control of 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one. The organizer submits the tournaments for national and international rating calculation.

The published prize fund for the 2026 festival is €10,000. The prize structure includes overall awards and separate prizes for rating groups, women, juniors, and younger players. Andrea Bisaro serves as tournament director and the main organizational contact.

The tournament attracts players from Italy and abroad. The 2024 edition brought together 450 participants from 31 countries across four sections. The Master section included grandmasters, international masters, and other titled players, while the lower sections welcomed club players and juniors.

🌍 Chess Education and Community

Youth chess and education form an important part of the club’s work. A.S.D. Le Due Torri provides chess instruction in local schools and organizes courses for players at different levels. These activities help beginners learn the game and give young players a path toward club and tournament chess.

The club combines this educational work with regular competitive activity. Players can join club teams, take part in local competitions, and progress toward larger rated events. The multi-section structure of the Spilimbergo tournament also gives players suitable competition based on their rating and experience.

Through school instruction, club activity, team chess, and international tournaments, A.S.D. Le Due Torri supports chess development in Spilimbergo. Its annual festival connects the local chess community with players from many countries.
