Circolo Scacchistico Dilettantistico Lupiae is a long-standing chess organizer in Lecce, Italy. Founded in 1970, the club has built a durable role in the chess life of Salento. It operates as an affiliated chess association within both the Italian federation framework and the wider amateur sports structure. Over the years, it has become one of the most recognizable organizers in the area.
The club runs a broad and steady event calendar. Its activity includes club championships, rapid and semirapid events, provincial and regional competitions, and larger public tournaments. It also organizes the Festival Scacchistico Internazionale del Barocco, which reached its 4th edition in 2026. In addition, the regional federation assigned the club the 2026 Puglia Absolute Championship, which confirms its active role in higher-level tournament delivery.
The leadership side is clear as well. The 2025–2028 board lists Massimo Borgia as president, with Mirko Smiles as vice president and Valerio Guido as technical and teaching lead. Massimo Borgia also appears as the legal representative and the strongest public-facing contact for current organizer communication. That makes him the clearest main contact person for this organizer profile.
