Schachklub Kriegshaber 1924 e.V. is a historic chess organizer in Augsburg, Germany. Founded on July 4, 1924, the club has worked continuously under the same name for more than a century. It remains one of the strongest and most visible chess clubs in Bavarian Swabia. The club also celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024.
The club combines regular training, league play, and public tournaments. Its official program includes club evenings, youth training, women’s chess activity, and open events. It is especially known for the Augsburger Friedensfest Open, the Weihnachts-Open, and several recurring club competitions. Public club information also shows more than 150 members and eight teams, which underlines its scale and stability.
The leadership structure is clear as well. Eckhardt Frank has served as 1st chairman for many years and remains the strongest organizer-facing figure. At the same time, official tournament material also shows Hans Reschka as an important current event contact. This gives the club both long-term continuity and practical tournament-side organization.
