The Andorran Chess Federation (Federació d’Escacs Valls d’Andorra – FEVA), founded on November 7, 1967, serves as the official governing body for chess in Andorra. Headquartered at Casal de l’Esport, Baixada del Molí 31–35, AD500 Andorra la Vella, FEVA oversees national chess activities, develops local talent, and represents Andorra in international competitions. Under the leadership of President Mr. Francesc Rechi, the federation actively promotes chess through various programs and events.
FEVA organizes several key tournaments annually. The Andorran Chess Championship, established in 1965, determines the national champion and is a cornerstone of the country’s chess calendar. The Andorra International Open, held every summer, attracts players from around the world and is renowned for its competitive field. Additionally, FEVA hosts the European Small Nations Individual Championship, bringing together players from Europe’s smaller nations to compete in a prestigious event.
