ASD Scacchi In Tour is an Italian chess association based in Ariccia, Lazio, serving players throughout Rome and the Castelli Romani area. Founded in 2018, the organization promotes chess among children, adults, beginners, and competitive players through courses, tournaments, youth programs, and public chess activities. The association operates across several municipalities, particularly Ariccia, Marino, Albano Laziale, Ciampino, Genzano di Roma, and Lanuvio. Its program combines FSI-rated competition with more accessible rapid, blitz, recreational, and promotional events. Chess courses are also organized at several locations, allowing new players to progress toward federation competition. Tournament organization has become one of the strongest parts of Scacchi In Tour's identity. Under President Eric Serge François Balossini, the association maintains a busy calendar of classical, rapid, blitz, youth, and community tournaments. 🏆 Città di Marino Tournaments

Marino is one of the main centers of Scacchi In Tour's competitive activity. The 4th Torneo Weekend “Città di Marino” took place from June 12–14, 2026 at Sala Lepanto inside Palazzo Colonna. The FIDE-rated classical event offered separate Open A and Open B sections, both played over five rounds at 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move. For the first time in the organizer's tournament program, games from the leading electronic boards were also broadcast live online. The association also organizes other competitions in Marino throughout the year, combining serious rated chess with activities connected to local cultural events.

🌍 Marino Città degli Scacchi Festival

The Festival “Marino Città degli Scacchi” is one of the association's largest current projects. The second edition takes place from September 12–20, 2026 alongside Marino's traditional Sagra dell'Uva celebrations. The festival includes Open A, Open B, and Open C, followed by a FIDE-rated blitz competition. The classical tournaments are played across two weekends, allowing participants to combine competitive chess with the wider cultural program in Marino. The event reflects Scacchi In Tour's approach of connecting tournament chess with the communities and traditions of the Castelli Romani.

⚡ Rapid, Blitz and Castelli Romani Circuit

Scacchi In Tour maintains an extensive faster-chess program. In 2026, the 3rd Trofeo dei Castelli Romani consisted of several tournament stages held in different municipalities, including Ariccia, Grottaferrata, and Nemi. The circuit concluded with the 3rd Torneo Blitz di Albano Laziale on June 21, 2026 at Palazzo Savelli. These competitions complement the association's FIDE classical tournaments and provide frequent opportunities for local players to compete throughout the season.

🎓 Youth Chess and Training

Youth development is another important part of the association's work. Scacchi In Tour runs regular chess courses in several Castelli Romani municipalities, with programs ranging from beginner instruction to competitive training. The organization also stages official youth competitions. In April 2026, it organized the Campionato Giovanile della Provincia di Roma in Marino and a separate qualifying tournament for the Campionato Italiano Giovanile 2026 in Ciampino. These events cover age categories from U8 through U18 and give young players a pathway from local training into provincial and national competition.

🤝 Community Chess

Scacchi In Tour actively brings chess outside conventional tournament halls. 🏛️ Organization and Leadership

Eric Serge François Balossini is the current President and principal public contact of ASD Scacchi In Tour. He continues to lead the association's tournament and community program in 2026 and is confirmed by the Italian Chess Federation as President. The current organizational team also includes Stefania Cavola, Giuliano Di Pardo, Federico Quagliani, and Igor Sagratini, who support the association's activities and administration.
