The 17th International Salzkammergut Chess Open 2025 is scheduled from June 6 to June 9, 2025, at the Kongress- und Theaterhaus in Bad Ischl, Austria. This annual tournament, held during Pentecost, is a prominent event in the region, attracting numerous chess enthusiasts.
Tournament Details:
- Format: 5-round Swiss system
- Time Control: 90 minutes for 40 moves, plus 30 minutes for the remainder of the game, with a 30-second increment per move
Tournament Groups:
The competition is divided into five categories:
- A-Tournament: Open to all players
- B-Tournament: For players rated under 2100 FIDE Elo
- C-Tournament: For players rated under 1900 FIDE Elo
- D-Tournament: For players rated under 1700 FIDE Elo
- E-Tournament: For players rated under 1500 national Elo

Additional Events:
