Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2025
The Tamil Nadu State Chess Association (TNSCA) and Quantbox Research have launched the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2025 to strengthen Chennai’s status as a global chess hub. They have prepared a world-class, FIDE-rated tournament that will bring together elite grandmasters and rising stars. Top international and Indian players will compete in this high-level, professionally organized event.

The organizers have scheduled the tournament to run from August 6 to August 15, 2025, in Chennai, India.
⏱️ Time Control & Rounds
- 🕒 Players will receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment from move one.
- ♟️ Players will compete over 9 rounds in a round-robin format.
📆 Schedule Overview
- 🗓️ Players will arrive and attend the Opening Ceremony on August 5, 2025.
- 🗓️ They will play Rounds 1 to 9 daily from August 6 to August 14, 2025.
- 🏆 The organizers will host the Closing Ceremony on August 15, 2025.
- 🛫 Participants will depart on August 16, 2025.
🏆 Prize Fund & Prizes
The organizers have announced a total prize fund of ₹2,000,000 INR (approximately $24,000 USD).
