Qarshi open III 2025
The Qarshi Open III 2025 International Chess Tournament, held in memory of Ismat Shukurov, will gather talented chess players from across the globe. Hosted in the cultural city of Karshi, Uzbekistan, this FIDE-rated tournament forms part of the nationโs broader chess development agenda aligned with the 2026 World Chess Olympiad preparations. Players will engage in a competitive 9-round Swiss-system event inside the state-of-the-art Gymnastics Sports Palace, offering a generous prize fund of 350 million UZS.

โฑ๏ธ Time Control & Format
Organizers will run the tournament in 9 rounds following the Swiss system. Each player receives 90 minutes from move one plus a 30-second increment per move. Players may not agree to a draw before move 30.

- Group A: For players rated 1800 and above
- Group B: For players rated below 2000
Players rated between 1800 and 1999 may choose either section.

Organizers will use Buchholz tie-breaks to determine winners in case of equal scores. Prize amounts will not be shared among tied players.

- Seniors (60+) and persons with disabilities receive 50% discount

โ๏ธ Travel & Accommodation
Organizers will provide full board accommodation and up to $500 airfare reimbursement for selected foreign grandmasters (FIDE 2500+).
All other participants must arrange their own travel and accommodation.
Complimentary hotel stay (single room, full board) runs from May 4 (14:00) to May 11 (12:00) for invited titled players. Early arrivals or extra nights will be at the participantโs own expense.

Players needing visas must send passport copies no later than April 20, 2025. Organizers cannot guarantee support for late submissions.
๐ฝ Dress Code & Health Policy
All participants must follow FIDE dress code rules.
The Chief Arbiter may remove players for health violations (e.g., fever or illness). The organizing committee reserves the right to adjust regulations if needed.
