⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
The congress runs as a five-round Swiss tournament across all three sections. Each player receives 90 minutes for the game plus a 30-second increment from move one. Meanwhile, the organizer uses digital clocks throughout the event.
The Open section accepts FIDE-registered members of the Welsh Chess Union or another national body. Meanwhile, the Major accepts players under 1900 FIDE, and the Minor accepts players under 1650 FIDE. If a player has no FIDE rating, the organizer uses a national rating instead. For entry, the organizer follows this order: FIDE, WCU, ECF, then another national body. Later, for pairings and rating prizes, the organizer uses the latest published ratings.
Players may arrive up to 30 minutes late for any round. After that, they lose by default. If players tie for prize places, the organizer shares the prize money and does not apply tie-breaks for prizes.
🏆 Prize Fund
The confirmed cash prize fund totals GBP 1,560, which is approximately USD 2,064. Moreover, the event spreads prizes across all three sections, so each section has its own main prize ladder. Players can win only one cash prize. If players tie, the organizer shares the prize money.

| Major | Under 1900 FIDE | National rating used if no FIDE rating |
| Minor | Under 1650 FIDE | National rating used if no FIDE rating |
The structure stays simple. Stronger players can enter the Open, while the Major and Minor give lower-rated players a more suitable section. However, if a player wants to enter the Major or Minor without a rating, that player should contact the organizer before entering.
