  • You play with 90 minutes for 40 moves, then receive 30 more minutes for the rest of the game, and you add 30 seconds per move from move 1.

  • If you arrive more than 30 minutes after the round start, you normally lose by forfeit.

  • When at least 16 players enter, organizers plan the tournament as a 9-round accelerated Swiss to create balanced pairings from the start.

  • With 11–15 players, organizers instead run a 7-round Swiss; with exactly 10 players, they switch to a round-robin all-play-all format.

  • Arbiters apply FIDE rules and Danish Chess Union regulations, and they enforce Sofia rules (no early draw offers) until the final round.

If the organizers switch to a 7-round Swiss format, they start the tournament on Thursday 12 February at 10:00 and adjust the remaining rounds accordingly.

📝 Registration

You register for Kvinde-DM 2026 through the Danish Chess Union’s online tournament system. You find the event in the DSU calendar, submit your entry there and complete your registration no later than Sunday 1 February 2026 at 23:59. You can also register by contacting the tournament organizer or DSU contact person by email, and they then enter your details in the system.

The organizers do not charge any entry fee for this championship. Late registration only takes place after agreement with the chief arbiter or tournament director, and they reserve this option for special cases. The championship requires at least 10 players, so the DSU may cancel or reframe the event if entries fall below this threshold.

Drivers approach Copenhagen Ø via the city’s ring roads, then follow local signs toward Østerbro and look for street parking near Rosenvængets Allé 31 according to local regulations.
