IV Torneo dell’Epifania
You start your chess year at the IV Torneo dell’Epifania, 3-6 January 2026, in Battipaglia, Italy, a FIDE-rated classical event with three rating groups and six rounds of serious play. A.D.S. Café de la Régence hosts the festival at Hotel Lamberti, a convenient venue just off the Battipaglia motorway exit, with on-site parking and easy access for travelling players.
You choose between Tournament A (Elo ≥1800), Tournament B (Elo 1551–1900), or Tournament C (Elo ≤1600), and you play a 90+30 time control over four days. With a total prize fund of €1,450, rating prizes, youth awards, and a clear Swiss-Olandese pairing system, the tournament offers a competitive yet friendly atmosphere for both Italian and foreign players.

Organizers deliver prizes only in person at the closing ceremony; you must attend to receive your prize.
⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
• You play each game with 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one.
• The arbiter pairs players using the FIDE Swiss-Dutch system.
• You may request one ½-point bye (forfeit draw) only once, for Round 1, 2, 3, or 4, and only before the tournament starts.
• If you arrive more than 60 minutes late to your board, you lose the game by forfeit.
• The arbiter uses these tie-break systems:

• Sonneborn-Berger
• APRO
• The tournament follows the FIDE Laws of Chess and FSI technical regulations in force during the event.
• The organizers apply FIDE article 11.3 to electronic devices; you must follow all instructions regarding phones and other electronic equipment.

You confirm your Vesus pre-registration by 31 December 2025 with a full bank transfer to A.D.S. Café de la Régence (see official regulations for bank details), then you send an email with the payment receipt attached to:

The organizers treat the date and time of your email as the official timestamp for registration order (not the bank date). After 31 December and up to the accreditation deadline, you may still register if the playing hall capacity allows it, by paying the latest (highest) fee on site.

You reach the venue easily by car:
• Leave the motorway at the Battipaglia exit.
• At the roundabout, take the first exit onto SS 18 Tirrena Inferiore.
• Drive about 300 metres; Hotel Lamberti stands on the right.
• You can park in the hotel’s parking area.

• Italian players must hold a valid FSI membership for 2026; foreign players must hold a FIN (FIDE Identification Number).
• Players with disabilities or special playing needs should notify the organizers in advance so they can arrange suitable conditions.
• By entering the tournament, you consent to the publication of your personal data (name, category, Elo), photos, video, live games, and results on FSI, regional committee, and general chess websites. For minors, parents or legal guardians implicitly grant this consent.
• The organizers may request authorization from the competent bodies to make any adjustments necessary for the smooth running of the event.
