⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
Players receive 90 minutes for the game, plus a 30-second increment per move. The same classical time control applies to Open A, Open B, and Open C.
The main tournaments use a 5-round Swiss system. In addition, the organizer applies International Buchholz for final rankings.
Tie-breaks follow this order: Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz Total, and average rating of opponents.
Players may arrive up to 60 minutes after the scheduled start of a round. After that limit, the player loses by forfeit.
The tournament also uses Pairing Allocated Bye rules. A PAB gives one point.

The tournament offers €3,330 in published cash prizes, which equals approximately USD 3,875. Prizes are not cumulative and not divisible.

All cups and trophies are handmade. The organizer commissioned them from psychological rehabilitation centers in Amelia.
🧩 Sections / Groups
The main tournament has three playing sections.
Open A is for players rated above 1800. However, the organizer may add up to five wild-card players with lower ratings.
Open B is for players rated below 1799. This section gives club players a separate competitive field with main prizes and a rating-band prize.
Open C is for players rated below 1600. It also includes a reduced fee for U16 players and gives developing players a dedicated tournament group.
Italian players and foreign players resident in Italy need valid FSI 2026 membership. Players who do not yet have the required membership may complete it through the organizer at the venue.

Players should pay by bank transfer before the relevant deadline. To receive the reduced fee, payment must arrive by November 1, 2026.
The payment note should include the tournament name and the player’s T-shirt size. In addition, payments made after the early deadline and by November 16 must use instant bank transfer.

Players arriving by train can travel toward Terni or nearby regional stations, then continue to Amelia by bus, taxi, or private transfer. Since the first round starts on Friday afternoon, visitors should avoid tight same-day travel plans.
