3. Halleiner Kelten-Schachopen 2026
The 3rd Halleiner Kelten Schachopen 2026 will take place from June 4-7, 2026, in the beautiful Salzberghalle Hallein, Austria. Organized by the 1st Halleiner Schachklub, this event has become a beloved tradition in the “Salt City” of Hallein, combining a friendly atmosphere with competitive FIDE-rated play.
The tournament will feature two main groups (A & B) and a Blitz Open as a side event. Players from Austria and abroad are warmly invited to enjoy high-level chess, professional organization, and local hospitality in the historic region of Salzburg.

5 Rounds Swiss System (A & B sections).
90 minutes + 30-second increments per move.
Default time: 30 minutes.
FIDE rules apply.
Pairings based on international (A) and national (B) ELO lists.
Tie-breaks: Buchholz-1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger.
Phones are allowed in the playing hall only if turned off; any sound or activation results in loss of game.
Smoking and e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited in the playing hall.
