Join chess enthusiasts from around the globe for the 4th OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT “MIKIS THEODORAKIS”, taking place from April 21 to April 27, 2025, in the picturesque city of Chania, Crete.

📍 Venue: Megalo Arsenali, Chania, Crete

The 4th OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT “MIKIS THEODORAKIS” will be hosted at the historic Megalo Arsenali, a landmark building in Chania that offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and modern facilities, providing an inspiring atmosphere for all participants.

💰 Total Prize Fund: €5,000+

Compete for a share of the €5,000+ prize fund, with rewards distributed across various categories:​

• 🥇 1st Place: €1,200
• 🥈 2nd Place: €800
• 🥉 3rd Place: €600
• Top Female Player: €400
• Best Junior, Senior, Local, and U18/U14/U10 Prizes: €200–€300 each

The final prize distribution will be announced closer to the event date.​

🕐 Time Control

Each player receives 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment from move one. The tournament follows the FIDE Swiss system pairing with 9 rounds.​
