⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
All festival tournaments use the Swiss System and follow the FIDE Laws of Chess.
The NIKE International U14 Youth Tournament plays 7 rounds with a rapid time control of 8 minutes per player plus 3 seconds per move. The III Estiko International Blitz plays 11 rounds at 3 minutes per player plus 2 seconds per move. The Alexela Cup (III Toomas Virro Memorial) Rapid plays 11 rounds at 12 minutes per player plus 3 seconds per move.
When players tie on points, the festival applies tie-breaks in this order: direct encounter, reduced Buchholz-1, reduced Buchholz-2, Buchholz, and higher number of games played with Black.
