The 23rd ASEAN+ Age-Group Chess Championships 2025 will bring together young and senior chess talents from Southeast Asia and partner countries. The organizers will host this prestigious championship in Penang, Malaysia, from July 1 to July 11, 2025, creating a dynamic environment for competition, learning, and international friendship.

- July 9, 2025: Rapid Chess Tournament
- July 10, 2025: Blitz Chess Tournament and Closing Ceremony

β³ Time Control of the Event
- Standard Chess: 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move from move one.
- Rapid Chess: 25 minutes for the entire game without increment.
- Blitz Chess: 5 minutes for the entire game without increment.

- Standard Chess: 9 rounds (Swiss system)
- Rapid Chess: 7 rounds (Swiss system)
- Blitz Chess: 9 rounds (Swiss system)
π Prize Fund and Prizes
The organizers will award gold, silver, and bronze medals in each age and gender category for Standard, Rapid, and Blitz events.
Special awards will recognize team performances based on the best three individual scores from each federation in every section.
π Registration and Participation Information
Participants must register through their national federations by submitting completed registration forms and confirming payment.
Direct individual registration remains possible but requires higher registration fees.

- Before June 1, 2025:
- Players (via Federation): USD 250
- Direct Registration: USD 300
- Accompanying Persons: USD 100
- After June 1, 2025:
- Players (via Federation): USD 300
- Direct Registration: USD 400
- Accompanying Persons: USD 125
- Seniors (Over 65): USD 200 before June 1
Payments must be made by bank transfer to the organizerβs account (details in official invitation).
ποΈ Venue Information
The organizers will host the tournament at the Main Ballroom of Berjaya Penang Hotel, located at 1-Stop Midlands Park, Jalan Burma, 10350 Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.
π¬ Travel and Accommodation
Participants should fly to Penang International Airport (PEN). Organizers recommend staying at official 4-star hotels affiliated with the event. All players and accompanying persons must stay in official hotels for logistics and safety coordination.
