The FIDE World Cup 2025 for age categories Under 8, Under 10, and Under 12 is set to take place from June 22 to July 3, 2025, in the scenic city of Batumi, Georgia. Organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in collaboration with the Georgian Chess Federation, this prestigious event aims to bring together the world’s most promising young chess players for a celebration of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship. The tournament, part of the FIDE World Cup U8 U10 U12, features a two-stage format: an initial 7-round Swiss System followed by final matches to determine the top standings. β
π° Prize Fund and Awards
A total prize fund of β¬4,000 is allocated for side events, including the Delegation Coaches Blitz Tournament. Additionally, top performers in each age and gender category of the FIDE World Cup U8 U10 U12 will receive:β
- 1st Place: Cup, Medal, Diploma, and a MacBook Air (2023/2024)
- 2nd Place: Cup, Medal, Diploma, and an iPhone 16

Furthermore, the top three finishers in each category will be granted free full-board accommodation for the upcoming World Cadets Chess Championship later in the year. β
π§ Participation and Eligibility
The championship is divided into six categories:β
- Open: U8, U10, U12
- Girls: U8, U10, U12β
Each category in the FIDE World Cup U8 U10 U12 will host 48 participants, with eligibility determined by:β
- Top three players from the previous World Cup
- One nomination from each continent
- One nomination from the organizing federation
- Additional spots allocated based on performance in the previous year’s World Cadets Championship and participation numbersβi
Players must not have reached the age of 8, 10, or 12 before January 1, 2025, for their respective categories.
