Both v17 and v18 tournaments will follow the same classical time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment starting from move one. Players are required to be at the board at the default start time; a zero-tolerance rule for lateness applies. This format fosters deep calculation, positional understanding, and thorough preparation—true hallmarks of classical chess.
