The Vlaamse Schaakfederatie (VSF), or Flemish Chess Federation, is the official governing body for chess in the Flemish-speaking region of Belgium. Established to promote and develop the game of chess, VSF operates under the larger umbrella of the Royal Belgian Chess Federation (KBSB/FRBE), representing Flanders in national and international chess affairs.

VSF’s primary mission is to support chess clubs, organize regional competitions, and foster chess education and talent development throughout Flanders. The federation regularly coordinates:

• The Open VSF-Kampioenschap, one of Flanders’ most competitive open tournaments
