The Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, inaugurated on March 28, 2013, under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, serves as a premier hub for chess enthusiasts in the United Arab Emirates. Spanning 34,000 cubic feet, its main hall accommodates up to 500 players, complemented by additional facilities including classrooms, a library, VIP room, and a regional FIDE office.

Dedicated to promoting chess culture and nurturing talent, the club offers training programs for approximately 200 students, guided by a team of experienced coaches. Its architectural design reflects traditional Emirati elements, notably featuring the ‘barjeel’ or wind tower, symbolizing a blend of cultural heritage and modernity.
