Mimosa International Horizont

Mimosa International Horizont is a Milan-based sports and cultural organisation that runs the community hub “Centro Aggregativo Multifunzionale e Culturale Julie Oswald.” Its chess section, Sezione Scacchi Mimosa International Horizont, focuses on organizing structured over-the-board tournaments and building a friendly, inclusive chess community in the city. The aim is to offer serious competition while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming for all ages.

The chess section stages a full calendar of weekend festivals, rapid circuits and classical events, including the Open d’Inverno “tardivo”. These tournaments are usually held in Milan under FSI and FIDE regulations with Swiss pairings and classical time controls. Therefore, club players can gain practical tournament experience and rating points within a compact, well-organised schedule.

In addition, Mimosa International Horizont promotes chess as a social and educational activity. Events are designed to be accessible to different playing strengths, and the organisers pay close attention to clear information, smooth registrations and transparent prize structures. As a result, the “Mimosa” tournaments have become a regular meeting point for many Milan-based players and visiting guests.
