Maritime ChessCentre is a Canadian chess organizer and tournament organizer serving the Maritime region of Canada. It is closely associated with Prince Edward Island events and is coordinated by National Arbiter Fred McKim. Moreover, the site provides schedules, event pages, and practical guidance for players and clubs.
Each year, it runs weekend competitions in classical chess as well as rapid and blitz chess formats. In addition, it organizes the 2026 ANVO PEI Open Chess Championship in Charlottetown as a two-section open chess tournament. The top section is a FIDE-rated tournament, while the companion section supports improving CFC-rated players.
Furthermore, the organizer publishes clear policies on fair play and electronics to keep games focused. It also supports local participation through flexible schedules and a welcoming, volunteer-driven tournament atmosphere.
