Echiquier Luchonnais

Echiquier Luchonnais is a chess organizer in Bagnères-de-Luchon, France. Founded in 1998, the club promotes chess for children and adults through weekly sessions, beginner instruction, and competitive play. As a result, it gives the Luchon area a steady base for organized chess activity.

The club combines regular club life with visible tournament work. It meets at Espace Nelson Mandela and runs weekly sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays. Since 2023, it has also fielded a team in L1 Occitanie. In 2025, the club launched the Tournoi de la Reine des Pyrénées, which strengthened its tournament profile.

The contact structure is clear as well. Jacques Galès stands out as the strongest organizer-facing contact and remains closely linked to tournament communication and day-to-day club activity. In addition, Sébastien Bandura appears in the federation record as president. Therefore, the club has both a defined operational contact and a visible administrative structure.
