Today, Bangkok Chess Club is Thailand’s largest international chess club, based in Bangkok and active since 1999. It brings together local players, expatriates and visiting masters for regular over-the-board play in a friendly setting. Weekly club nights feature blitz tournaments, casual games and social chess at The Royal Oak in central Sukhumvit.
Over the years, Bangkok Chess Club became best known for the Bangkok Chess Club Open, a leading Asian open. The 23rd BCC Open 2026 in Hua Hin offers Masters and Challenger sections. Both sections are FIDE-rated nine-round Swiss events with classical time controls. Moreover, careful organization, strong fields and a holiday-resort setting make the festival attractive to players worldwide.
In addition, Bangkok Chess Club supports chess growth in Thailand through regular blitz events and local partnerships.
