Association pour la Sauvegarde du Site de la Pierre Saint Martin

Association pour la Sauvegarde du Site de la Pierre Saint Martin is a long-standing organizer based at La Pierre Saint-Martin in Arette, France. The association dates back to 1976 and has a clear public role in the life of the station. Its identity combines resident representation, local promotion, and support for community activity in the mountain resort.

The association also has a real chess organizer profile through the Open International d’Échecs du Pic d’Anie, one of the best-known summer chess events in the station. Official event pages present it as an organizer of the annual open, while the station’s own site explains that it works together with the tourism office, the municipality of Arette, and Maison des Échecs de Toulouse Lardenne to deliver the event. This gives the association a practical role in both event organization and destination promotion.

The public contact structure is also clear. Yves Lévèque appears as president in the Arette association listing and in municipal material. At the same time, Nicolas Sanchez is repeatedly named in French Chess Federation tournament pages as the main contact for the chess tournament and youth stage. That gives the association both a clear leadership figure and a dedicated tournament-side contact for chess operations.
